How We Manage Bonds

WALT ST manages allocations to fixed income utilizing only well-diversified portfolios of high quality taxable (U.S. Treasury, Government Agencies, Corporates rated "A" or better by S&P and/or Moody´s rating service) and or non-taxable (municipals rated "A" or better) individual securities. 

WALT ST may also purchase Preferred Stocks for income enhancement provided that the credit ratings of the underlying company are investment grade of "A" or better.

While there are opportunities to purchase undervalued bonds and other fixed income investments solely for appreciation, as general practice WALT ST purchases bonds with the intent of creating stability and income for a portfolio.

WALT ST reviews the issuer's credit quality and a specific issue's terms and conditions. A fair price for an issue is determined by comparing the issue's yield to maturity to comparable securities. Finally, WALT ST reviews each issuer's credit quality and relative yields on a regular basis.
